I send the swarm! I send the horde! Thus saith the LORD!
[info]trulytitan's Prince of Egypt post made me dig out my Bible and look it up, despite how much I hate the King James Version.

Journey with me, if you will, into the (mostly contradictory) Old Testament, into Exodus, chapter Eight:

1 AND the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve Me.
2And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:
3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and . . .

Skipping around a little:

8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.

Obviously Pharaoh is a liar, cuz if he had let them go, we wouldn't have had the other eight plagues.

15But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them, as the LORD had said.

Bad, bad Pharaoh. *shakes head*

That's the first plague . . .I would add more, but I really detest the King James Version.

I saw an entire special on how the plagues could have been caused by natural phenomenon.. It was pretty cool.. And it all started with a simple thing, I think it was a heavy rainfall somewhere

The only one they could NOT explain was the death of the firstborn

The water turning to blood was a natural phenomenon? How'd they explain that one?

I don't think the Pharoah is hateworthy.

The Jewish story is that every single time he was ready to give in, God made his heart stubborn.
